Heat Wave Advisory Issued for Gwangju and Jeonnam... 30-Degree Heat Continues

Heatwave warnings have been issued across various parts of Gwangju and Jeonnam, resulting in hot weather conditions.

The Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration issued a heatwave advisory at 10 a.m. on the 3rd for Gwangju and some areas of Jeonnam (Naju, Damyang, Gokseong, Gurye, Hwasun, Boseong, Gwangyang, Suncheon, Yeongam).

A heatwave advisory is issued when the daily maximum perceived temperature remains at or above 33 degrees Celsius for two or more consecutive days or when a rapid rise in perceived temperature is expected.

The highest daytime temperature on this day is expected to range between 27 and 31 degrees Celsius. On the 4th, it will be between 27 and 32 degrees, and on the 5th, between 27 and 30 degrees. For the time being, daytime temperatures will be around 30 degrees Celsius, with the highest perceived temperature rising above 32 degrees.

An official from the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration stated, "Due to the rain that has fallen so far, the atmosphere is humid, and daytime temperatures are expected to gradually rise." They added, "There is a high possibility of heat-related illnesses, so outdoor activities and outings should be avoided, and food management must be thorough to prevent food poisoning."
