Bubal-eup Sujeong-ri and Sindun-myeon Magyo-ri Area
Gyeonggi-do Icheon City announced on the 3rd that it has created a small pocket park in the leftover spaces adjacent to the roads around 385 Sujeong-ri, Bubal-eup, and 369-5 Magyo-ri, Sindun-myeon.

This project was promoted by the city after applying last year to Gyeonggi-do's 'Urban Park Landscaping Culture Support Project' and receiving a provincial subsidy of 250 million KRW.
The creation of the pocket park was carried out to improve the road's aesthetics and secure a resting place for residents, targeting two green areas at the village entrance that were unmanaged and mixed with weeds and locust trees.
The city organized the existing trees within the pocket park and shaped their forms, while newly planting flowering trees such as goldenrain trees, hydrangeas, azaleas, and groundcover flowers. The city explained that the park's creation not only provides functional benefits such as reducing fine dust, expanding carbon absorption sources, and preventing the heat island effect but also secures a resting space for residents and drivers.
Kim Kyung-hee, mayor of Icheon City, said, "We plan to secure more green spaces in the future to improve the urban landscape and make the living environment of citizens more pleasant."
