Interior Design Service for 'Forest of Water' Theme

Creating a Multi-Cultural Space for Reading and Play

The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Cheon Changsu) announced on the 3rd that it will begin full-scale construction of the 'Children's Reading Experience Center,' starting with playground installation and interior design planning services.

The Children's Reading Experience Center is an experiential educational institution focused on forest, play, and reading education. It will be built on the site of the former Donghae Branch School, with a project budget of approximately 16.3 billion KRW, as a two-story building with a total floor area of 2,047.51 square meters. The Ulsan Office of Education is currently demolishing the old school building and aims to open the facility in September 2025.

The design service contractor selected is The H Design Architects Office Co., Ltd. This architectural firm proposed an interior decoration design with the theme 'Forest of Water,' customized furniture for each space, and specialized areas for youth.

The outdoor play facilities are proposed as treehouses utilizing the existing school trees, allowing for forest play and ecological education, so that students can experience both play and classes in a natural setting.

The Ulsan Office of Education recently held a kickoff briefing at the Office's Creativity Development Room, where they discussed detailed design directions and space ideas to promote forest, play, and reading education with company representatives.

By September, they plan to complete the detailed design through interim and final briefings, and begin construction at the end of this year in connection with the building works.

A representative from the Ulsan Office of Education stated, "We will do our best to create a complex cultural space where students, parents, and citizens can comfortably enjoy reading and play."
