Overseas Training Benefits Worth 100 Million KRW Offered to Awardees
834 Recipients Supported With 1.37 Billion KRW Since 2007
Daesun Public Welfare Foundation, established by Daesun Distilling Co., a representative local company of BN Group in Busan, announced on June 28 the selection of 59 recipients for the 19th Daesun Social Worker Awards. The award ceremony will be held this October at the Daesun Distilling Co. plant in Gijang.
This year, a total of 59 social workers were selected for the Daesun Social Worker Awards, including 35 from Busan, 18 from Ulsan, and 6 from Gyeongnam. The winners will receive a plaque and a special benefit of a study tour program in Singapore worth a total of 100 million KRW.
The Daesun Social Worker Awards is a social contribution program that has been jointly conducted by the Daesun Public Welfare Foundation and the Social Workers Associations of Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam since 2007. It was established to encourage social workers who are dedicated to vulnerable groups and the public good in the region and to provide more advanced welfare services.
Cho Sungje, Chairman of the Daesun Public Welfare Foundation, said, "We are grateful for the hard work of social workers who deliver love and happiness to our neighbors in the field," and added, "We will continue to be a strong support for citizens in welfare blind spots through ongoing social contribution activities."
The Daesun Public Welfare Foundation is the first private public foundation in Busan, established in 2005 by Daesun Distilling Co. as part of its ESG management. Since 2007, it has selected 834 social workers from Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam and provided support worth a total of 1.37 billion KRW. In addition, it carries out various social contribution activities in welfare, education, and culture, such as free meal programs for underprivileged groups in the community and scholarships for university students majoring in social welfare.
