The Arts Management Support Center (hereinafter referred to as AMS) announced on the 3rd that it will exhibit 29 works by 8 media art and installation artists (teams) for airport users in collaboration with Korea Airports Corporation (hereinafter referred to as KAC). Since last year, AMS and KAC have been conducting collaborative exhibitions during the fall season, when overseas art market professionals and visitors focus their attention due to the hosting of KIAF and Frieze Seoul.
At Gimpo Airport, under the theme "Journey to Tomorrow," 19 works by artists Kim Tae-su, Cha Min-young, and Lim Ji-bin will be exhibited in the domestic exhibition lounge and the international departure hall.
Installed in the international departure hall, Kim Tae-su’s work 'Mystery of Antiquity (Taego-ui Sinbi)' changes its form moment by moment as visitors move along the path and shift their gaze, allowing them to newly experience the energy and vitality given by nature. The artist, who has worked as a sculptor, has presented works that embody various aspects of ecology through sculptural structures. Although the stacked panels are painted in pure, vivid colors and take on an abstract form, the flexible rhythm conveys to the audience the immeasurable scale and depth of ecology encompassing humans and nature, as well as energy and poetic inspiration.
On the 3rd floor domestic exhibition lounge, Cha Min-young’s travel bag series and Lim Ji-bin’s new Brick Bear work will be installed. A representative from Pyo Gallery, which is organizing the exhibition, stated, "We want to convey a message to visitors to move forward vigorously toward the future that lies ahead."
At Gimhae Airport, under the theme "Someday, I will fly," 10 works by artists Ko Chang-seon, Park Hyun-ho, Byun Dae-yong, Studio Atek, and Shin Ki-woon will be exhibited.

The works will be displayed in three locations: the international exhibition lounge, the international general departure hall, and the international 2nd-floor extension quarantine departure hall. Some of the works can be viewed without a plane ticket. In the international general departure hall, media art by Ko Chang-seon, Shin Ki-woon, Studio Atek, and Park Hyun-ho can be enjoyed on a 220-inch screen.
Studio Atek, a media artist duo composed of Kim Sung-pil and Park Moon-seok, explores the role and meaning of media art technology in our lives and aims to approach the public as everyday art.
In the international exhibition lounge and the international 2nd-floor extension quarantine departure hall, sculptural works by Byun Dae-yong, known as the 'Polar Bear' artist, are exhibited. Through his polar bear works, the artist has warned about the reality of the climate crisis, but after working for over 10 years, he realized that the reality faced by humans is not much different from that of polar bears. Ultimately, the artist conveys messages of comfort and hope for human life through the polar bear.

A representative from Kunst1, the organizer of the exhibition, explained, "We wanted to provide visitors with a moment of healing in their weary daily lives by presenting works from leading contemporary media artists under the theme of the 'sky (dream)' and the 'path' connecting it to our reality."
An AMS official said, "This fall, we will hold the 'Korea Art Festival' to promote exhibitions and events nationwide in an integrated manner and cooperate with related organizations to revitalize art tourism. This exhibition will be the first to catch the eyes of tourists visiting Korea during the peak travel season."
The exhibitions by AMS and the airports will continue at Incheon Airport starting from the 10th, following Gimpo and Gimhae Airports.
