From the 3rd, Intensive Inspection of Ground Sections and Construction Sites for 10 Days
No Issues Found in Stations at Risk of Heavy Rain and Flooding in June
Busan Transportation Corporation (President Lee Byungjin) will carry out a proactive special inspection for 10 days from the 3rd to the 12th, targeting above-ground sections of the urban railway and construction sites that are vulnerable to heat waves during the summer.
The inspection will cover a total of 11 areas, including operations such as business, rolling stock, electricity, signaling, civil engineering, and construction sites. The corporation will focus on ▲management status of 18 above-ground station waiting rooms and platforms ▲operation status of air conditioning systems in trains ▲condition of overhead wire tension adjustment devices ▲management status of rail watering devices in above-ground elevated sections ▲prevention activities for heat-related illnesses among construction site workers.

In particular, as the average summer temperature is expected to rise significantly compared to previous years and the heat wave period is likely to be prolonged, the corporation will proactively identify and eliminate risk factors in heat-vulnerable facilities with high usage rates by citizens, such as above-ground station waiting rooms.
Lee Byungjin, President of Busan Transportation Corporation, stated, "We will continue thorough pre-inspections and management to protect the safety of citizens using the urban railway from natural disasters during the summer," and emphasized, "Through these efforts, we will create a Busan urban railway that citizens can trust and use."
He added, "We will also pay special attention to the health management of partner company site workers to ensure a safe workplace."
The corporation also conducted a special inspection in the third week of June to prepare for natural disasters such as heavy rain and typhoons, checking 50 vulnerable facilities including ▲management status of flood prevention facilities at stations at risk of flooding ▲operation status of drainage pump rooms ▲maintenance status of retaining wall and cut slope drainage systems.
Based on the inspection results, any issues requiring improvement, such as the watertightness (leak prevention) of floodgate holders and maintenance of sandbags, were immediately addressed, and the corporation is making company-wide efforts to ensure facility safety and prevent accidents.
