Yongsan-gu Operates Customized College Admission Programs for Students Preparing for Early Admission

Yongsan-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Park Hee-young) will operate customized college admission programs for examinees in July and August ahead of the 2025 academic year early admission.

The admission programs prepared by the district consist of two parts: a special lecture on early admission application strategies and one-on-one strategic consulting for early admission preparation. The special lecture on early admission application strategies will be held on the 30th of this month from 2 to 6 p.m. at Garam, a small theater in Yongsan Art Hall (150 Noksapyeong-daero, 1st floor).

Park Kwon-woo, author of the book "Eating Watermelon and Going to College" (Living Books), which serves as a guideline for college counselors nationwide, will be the lecturer. Park Kwon-woo currently serves as the head of career and college counseling at Ewha Girls' High School and has been conducting nationwide teacher training for college counseling every year since 2006.

This special lecture will provide detailed information on the key points of the 2025 early admission, characteristics and application strategies by type and university. The plan is to help examinees establish early admission strategies tailored to their own abilities.

The lecture is open to 270 students and parents who reside in Yongsan-gu or attend high schools in the area, and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Students and parents who wish to participate can apply on Yongsan JinHak Pass from 10 a.m. on the 4th until midnight on the 25th. Those who apply in advance will be provided with a booklet summarizing information related to early admission.

In the one-on-one strategic consulting for early admission preparation, participants can receive customized counseling based on their school records for 40 minutes. The sessions will be held four times: on the 26th of this month and the 9th of next month at the 2nd floor of Yongsan-gu Office (150 Noksapyeong-daero), and on the 10th and 24th of next month at the 1st floor of Yongsan Dream Tree Complex Town (329 Baekbeom-ro).

The program targets students and parents residing in Yongsan-gu or currently enrolled in the 3rd year of high school in the area. The total number of participants is 112. Graduates living in the district can also apply. Applications are accepted on Yongsan JinHak Pass up to one week before the counseling date.

District Mayor Park Hee-young stated, "We will continue to provide programs tailored to the timing and target groups to lead the way in reducing private education expenses and enhancing educational welfare, becoming a 'City of Education, Yongsan'."
