On the 2nd, the Korea Organ and Tissue Donation Agency announced that on the 5th of last month, Park Jun-young (47) donated his heart, lungs, liver, and both kidneys at Korea University Guro Hospital. On May 6th, Park felt unwell while working in his office and called 119, but he lost consciousness and collapsed shortly after. He was then transported to the emergency room, where medical staff provided intensive treatment, but he fell into a brain-dead state. His family, who earnestly hoped for his recovery, decided to donate his organs, believing that "rather than letting him go like this, if even a part of his body lives and breathes somewhere, he will be with us."
Born as the eldest son among one son and one daughter in Seoul, Park operated a factory as an engineer specializing in precision sheet metal processing. He was known for his cheerful and bright personality, always reaching out first to help those who were struggling or in need. In particular, he had supported African children for more than 10 years during his lifetime and always prioritized those around him who were facing difficulties.
Park’s younger sister, Park Hee-kyung, said, "Our one and only brother in this world, I feel like one side of my body will always ache. I will miss and want to see him so much." She added, "But I will bravely fulfill my role as a strong child just like my brother. So please don’t worry and take care in heaven. I love you, brother," delivering her final farewell.
