‘Blooming Laundry No. 3,’ a specialized laundry for workers' uniforms in Gyeonggi Province, will open in Paju City in mid-April.
Gyeonggi Province announced on the 3rd that the ‘Paju City Blooming Laundry,’ located at 106-1 Ugye-ro, Paju-eup, near the Paju-eup Administrative Welfare Center, will officially open on the 18th of this month, with a temporary operation period from the 8th to the 17th.
The ‘Paju City Blooming Laundry,’ the first of its kind in the northern Gyeonggi region, spans 185㎡ (approximately 56 pyeong) and is equipped with essential facilities and equipment such as washing machines, dryers, and steam irons. Inside, there are dedicated laundry workspaces and rest areas, providing convenience for workers to balance work and rest.
The temporary operation period is free of charge and available to anyone working in industrial complexes and nearby small and medium-sized enterprises. Priority support is given especially to businesses with fewer than 50 employees and their workers.
After the official opening on the 18th, users can utilize the service at relatively low costs: 1,000 KRW per set (500 KRW per piece) for spring and autumn uniforms and summer uniforms, and 2,000 KRW per set (1,000 KRW per piece) for winter uniforms.
Joo Sang-gi, Director of Labor Rights at Gyeonggi Province, stated, "By establishing a laundry for workers' uniforms in northern Gyeonggi, we expect to implement balanced labor welfare policies across northern and southern Gyeonggi." He added, "We will continue to do our best to protect workers' health rights and improve working conditions."
