Speaking to reporters before the 6th plenary session of the National Assembly's Science, Technology, Information and Broadcasting and Communications Committee held on the afternoon of the 2nd, Seo stated this. Regarding the hearing on the cancellation of the 4th mobile telecommunications qualification, Seo added, "It was a session that confirmed the legal requirements were clear."

StageX was selected as the frequency allocation target corporation by offering the highest bid (430.1 billion KRW) in the 28 GHz band frequency auction, but last month, it was notified by the Ministry of Science and ICT that the corporation's selection would be canceled. An administrative hearing on this matter was held on the 27th of last month.

The Ministry of Science and ICT also maintained its original position. When Lee Sang-hwi, a member of the People Power Party, asked, "Are you aware that there are views that the cancellation decision is unfair?" Minister Lee Jong-ho of the Ministry of Science and ICT responded, "We considered the difference between the applicant corporation and the registered corporation as a significant issue and gave our opinion accordingly."

Regarding the supply of the 28 GHz frequency band to the 4th mobile telecommunications operator, the ministry stated that it will continue to review the matter. Minister Lee said, "The 28 GHz band can technically create new services and is a system that allows information to be exchanged quickly in crowded places," adding, "From the perspective of providing new options to the public, it is necessary to thoroughly review this through a research group."

In response to Lee Jun-hyuk, a member of the Reform New Party, asking whether StageX is seen as being in a position to compete with the three major telecommunications companies, Deputy Minister Kang Do-hyun said, "It is not easy to make a hypothetical judgment," but added, "Economically, it will be difficult."
