Relocation of East Sea Regional Headquarters to New Building: 1 Basement Floor, 8 Above Ground Floors

Foundation Established to Contribute to Regional Development Centered on Pohang

Pohang Convergence TNI has donated a 33,000 m² site worth 15 billion KRW to Pohang City for the relocation of the East Coast Regional Headquarters.

On the site donated to Pohang City by Pohang Convergence TNI, the new East Coast Regional Headquarters building has been constructed with a total floor area of 12,332 m², consisting of one basement level and eight floors above ground.

The Gyeongbuk East Coast Regional Headquarters, which had been using a temporary office, recently completed its relocation from the former Yongheung Office (the old Yongheung Middle School) to the new building.

Now relocated to the Pohang Convergence Technology Industrial District, the East Coast Regional Headquarters, which serves as Gyeongbuk Province's second government office, is expected to meet the administrative needs of the one million residents in the southeastern region, promote balanced development in Gyeongbuk Province, and lead economic growth along the East Coast.

Bangwonju, CEO of Pohang Convergence TNI, stated, "We decided on this donation to coexist with the local community," adding, "I hope the East Coast Regional Headquarters will serve as a control tower for the southeastern region and help lay the foundation for regional development centered on Pohang."

The Pohang Convergence Technology Industrial District currently houses the National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service (Pohang-Ulleung Office), an agency under the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, as well as the Pohang Knowledge Industry Center, which provides creative spaces for the future and opportunities for youth entrepreneurship.

Additionally, the district is establishing itself as a research and administrative hub for balanced regional development through projects selected by national agencies such as the Food Tech Research Support Center, the national-level Cell Membrane Protein Research Institute, the Green Vaccine Demonstration Support Center?the nation's first plant-based vaccine company support facility for fostering the green bio industry?and the Green Bio Venture Campus, which is scheduled to begin construction at the end of this year.
