The Jeonnam Provincial Council announced on the 2nd that Assemblyman Na Gwang-guk was elected as the chairman of the 12th Budget and Accounts Special Committee, and Assemblyman Lee Gyu-hyun was elected as the chairman of the Ethics Special Committee.
Assemblyman Jin Ho-geon was elected as the vice chairman of the Budget and Accounts Committee, and Assemblyman Choi Dong-ik was elected as the vice chairman of the Ethics Committee. Their terms are one year.
The Budget and Accounts Special Committee reviews and finalizes the entire budget of Jeonnam Province and the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education, and approves the settlement of accounts.
The Ethics Special Committee is responsible for verifying and reviewing matters related to the qualification examination of members belonging to the Jeonnam Provincial Council, compliance with the code of ethics and ethical practice standards, and disciplinary actions.
Chairman Na Gwang-guk said, “With the decrease in tax revenue and the added economic downturn, the financial conditions of Jeonnam are difficult, and I feel a heavy responsibility in taking on the role of chairman. I will review the budget transparently and fairly to ensure that the budget, prepared with the precious taxes of the residents, is allocated and used where it is truly needed.”
Chairman Lee Gyu-hyun stated, “As the residents’ interest in the integrity and ethical awareness of the local council and its members is increasing day by day, I feel a heavy responsibility for this important role. I will do my best to create a clean Jeonnam Provincial Council based on standards and principles that meet the expectations of the residents.”
