Yeongdeok County Holds Ceremony Marking 2nd Anniversary of 8th Popularly Elected Administration

On-Site Communication Administration, Vowing to Advance as a 'Wellness-Centered City'

Yeongdeok County in North Gyeongsang Province held a commemorative ceremony at the Yeongdeok County Citizen's Hall on the 1st, marking the second anniversary of the 8th popularly elected administration, with over 200 residents and staff members in attendance.

Yeongdeok County, which announced the vision of a "Wellness-Centered City" in the second half of the 8th term of the elected government.

The event proceeded in the following order: awards for contributors to county development this year, appointment of honorary ambassadors, commemorative address, proclamation of the county's vision, and an employee empathy talk concert.

On the occasion of this ceremony, Yeongdeok County declared its commitment to overcoming the crisis of local extinction and pursuing sustainable growth by fostering regionally specialized tourism and new industries, with the future vision of becoming "Yeongdeok, the Wellness Capital of Korea."

Writer Jeon Jeonghee, who won the World Literature Award for her novel "Mukho-daek," and actor Lee Sangyeob, who has gained popularity through various entertainment programs such as tvN's "Sixth Sense," were appointed as honorary ambassadors. They are expected to actively promote "Yeongdeok, the Wellness Capital" to a wider audience.

During the employee empathy talk concert, County Governor Kim Kwangyeol and staff members had an open and candid communication session, sharing their values and philosophies regarding both county administration and personal matters based on mutual respect, which was met with enthusiastic response from the staff.

In his commemorative address, County Governor Kim Kwangyeol said, "Over the past two years, the 8th popularly elected administration has worked tirelessly to fulfill the earnest wishes of the residents, ushering in an era of a 600 billion won main budget for the first time." He encouraged, "For the remaining two years, let us do our utmost to create a new Yeongdeok where residents are happy, focusing on the value of administration that communicates with the people in the field."
