Gwangju Seo-gu Holds Full Meeting of Future Innovation Committee... Discusses Key Tasks

The Future Innovation Committee of Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (co-chairs Kim Igang and Yoon Bongran) held its 8th plenary meeting on the 1st.


According to Seo-gu on the 2nd, the Future Innovation Committee is conducting monthly subcommittee meetings focusing on key tasks for 2024 by each division.


This meeting was held as a time to share discussions on the key tasks carried out so far with all committee members and to collect related opinions.

In particular, on this day, ▲ the Administrative Innovation subcommittee discussed themes suitable for the living areas of four regions, conducting education and benchmarking, and establishing village community centers; ▲ the Cultural Economy subcommittee discussed the Seochang Eulssae Festival photo contest and linking the Saebom Music Concert with Radiant Touring; ▲ the Urban Environment subcommittee discussed expanding the installation of disaster broadcast speakers and installing signboards in habitual danger zones.


Additionally, expanding the target recipients for the cool roof construction project; ▲ the Health and Welfare subcommittee proposed opinions on expanding the cognitive-emotional expert training program, developing a dementia road unique to our district, creating manuals and maps for kind stores, and introducing the Pungam Partners platform.


The Future Innovation Committee plans to comprehensively organize the recommendations and proposals made so far through future subcommittee meetings, review them with the responsible departments, and reflect them in district administration.


Kim Igang, head of Seo-gu, said, “The policy proposals of the Future Innovation Committee have greatly helped lay the foundation for the 8th elected term,” and added, “We will spread warm policies through opinions and proposals that can further develop the policies implemented so far, creating a more advanced Seo-gu.”


Meanwhile, the Seo-gu Future Innovation Committee was formed in October 2022 with about 30 members, including private experts representing various fields such as economy, autonomy, welfare, education, women, culture, and youth, as well as Seo-gu council members and public officials.


It gathers opinions on the direction of district innovation and detailed implementation plans to make policy recommendations to Seo-gu, and also serves as a communication channel between the public and government by collecting civic opinions and identifying areas for improvement in district administration.
