Kim Gil-seong, Jung-gu Mayor, "Implementing Effective Policies to Drive Changes in Residents' Lives"

Presenting Vision on 2nd Anniversary of Inauguration
Encouraging Employees' Efforts Through Morning Broadcast

Kim Gil-seong, Jung-gu Mayor, "Implementing Effective Policies to Drive Changes in Residents' Lives" On the afternoon of the 1st, District Mayor Kim Gil-seong presented a vision at the 'Naepyeon Jung-gu Sharing Meeting.' Provided by Jung-gu.

"I would like to thank the employees who have pioneered and challenged paths untaken over the past two years, demonstrating sincere and creative proactive administration."

On the 1st, marking the 2nd anniversary of the 8th term of the elected government, Kim Gilsung, Mayor of Jung-gu, began his day with a morning broadcast encouraging the efforts of over 1,300 Jung-gu employees who have led the district administration together with trust and communication over the past two years.

Mayor Kim’s first external schedule was to visit the Namsan Jarak Forest Trail with residents. This was a pledge to continue communicating with residents in the latter half of his term and to implement policies that residents can feel in their daily lives. The Namsan Jarak Forest Trail project was selected as the number one policy that has been the most reliable support for residents and is a beloved project among them.

In particular, since his inauguration, Mayor Kim personally requested the Korea Forest Service, explained the purpose of creating a barrier-free path in the city, secured project funds, and boldly pushed forward, resulting in the opening of the Namsan Jarak Forest Trail within two years.

Recently, even on weekends, visitors from other regions have been increasing, drawn by word of mouth to the Namsan Jarak Forest Trail. Mayor Kim stated that through steady management such as expanding access routes and producing guide maps to make it easier for residents to approach the forest trail, he will ensure that residents feel proud to live in this "premium forest zone."

In the afternoon, Mayor Kim attended the "My Ally Jung-gu Sharing Meeting" held at Shinsegae Namsan Trinity Hall, sharing the achievements of the past two years and expressing gratitude. About 600 people, including foreign guests such as Colin James Crooks, British Ambassador to Korea, residents, and employees, attended the sharing meeting.

At the sharing meeting, Mayor Kim directly presented a blueprint for taking another leap forward in the remaining two years. He said, "While pursuing changes in Jung-gu’s downtown through follow-up support projects following the relaxation of Namsan height restrictions and the rebirth of Myeongdong Square, we will also implement effective policies that bring Jung-gu closer to residents and lead to changes in their lives."

Additionally, to celebrate the success of Jeongdong Night Festival, Korea’s first cultural heritage night festival, the "Best Ally Jung-gu Award" was presented to the British Ambassador to Korea for his contribution as a member of the Jung-gu community, and to the Parks and Greenery Division for their efforts to make it more convenient for residents to access Namsan.

On the 31st of this month, Jung-gu will hold the final sharing meeting on the status of Jung-gu residents’ habitation survey. The results will be actively used as basic data for discovering demand-tailored policies and improving work processes, aiming to create a "My Always Reliable Ally" Jung-gu that residents can truly feel.
