Silla University Students Selected as Aviation Safety Voluntary Report Supporters

Four Students from Department of Air Traffic Management Participate in Aviation Accident Prevention Activities

Students from the Department of Air Traffic Management at Silla University (President: Heo Namsik) have been selected as members of the ‘2024 Aviation Safety Voluntary Reporting Supporters’ organized by the Korea Transportation Safety Authority.

The Korea Transportation Safety Authority recruited university students majoring in aviation-related fields and flight instructors and trainees from specialized pilot training institutions for the ‘2024 Aviation Safety Voluntary Reporting Supporters’ program, aiming to lead efforts in protecting public aviation safety together with future aviation professionals. The launch ceremony was held on the 28th of last month at the conference room of the Aviation Qualification Examination Center in Sangam-dong, Seoul.

Among the 20 university students selected as supporters, Kim Jihyun, Park Subin, Yoon Dayoung, and Kim Minjeong from the Department of Air Traffic Management at Silla University were chosen.

From July to October, they will participate in aviation accident prevention activities, including continuously reporting aviation safety risk factors through the Aviation Safety Voluntary Reporting website whenever such risks are identified.

They will also plan and produce promotional content on the topic of identifying aviation safety risk factors, promoting the importance of aviation safety and the Aviation Safety Voluntary Reporting System through social media, thereby encouraging public participation.

Kim Minjeong, a student from the Department of Air Traffic Management at Silla University who was selected as a supporter, said, “My experience in creating SNS content to promote the department as the head of the student council’s PR team was highly regarded,” and added, “I will fulfill my role as a supporter with passion and responsibility so as not to disappoint the professor who recommended me and the Korea Transportation Safety Authority.”
