Goseong County in Gyeongnam achieved a remarkable feat by winning the Excellence Award in the Basic Local Government category at the '2024 Korea Local Administration and Local Council Expo,' held at Exhibition Hall 2 of the Daejeon Convention Center from June 28 to 30.
Celebrating its sixth year, the 'Korea Local Administration and Local Council Expo' was organized to promote outstanding local administration policies and to seek mutual cooperation between administrations and councils.
This year’s expo featured 40 local governments, 53 participating companies, and 114 booths. According to the organizer (Korea Exhibition Industry Institute), an estimated 11,161 visitors attended, exploring excellent policies and promotional materials from metropolitan and basic local governments across the country, and enjoying a mini-festival atmosphere with local specialties given as prizes.
At this expo, Goseong County received the prestigious award in recognition of its creative exhibition booth design and proactive promotion of the 2024 Goseong Dinosaur World Expo.
County Governor Lee Sanggeun stated, “Through this expo, we were able to promote county administration and tourist destinations in Goseong, and we will use the exchange of outstanding policies among local governments as an opportunity for Goseong County to further develop.”
