Samsung Electronics' 'Extra-Large Premium AI TV' Sales Increase by 40%

Differentiated Viewing Experience and Impact of Energy Saving Mode

Samsung Electronics announced on the 2nd that domestic sales of new ultra-large premium AI TVs, including Neo QLED 8K and Neo QLED, OLED models of 75 inches (189cm) and larger sold this year, increased by more than 40% compared to the previous year. In particular, sales of Samsung OLED models 75 inches (189cm) and larger more than tripled compared to the previous models sold during the same period until June after the new product launch.

Samsung Electronics analyzed that sales of ultra-large premium TV product lines increased due to differentiated viewing experiences such as enhanced AI features for image quality upscaling and sound optimization starting this year. The AI-based energy-saving mode also influenced consumer choices.

The 2024 Neo QLED 8K is equipped with the '3rd generation AI 8K processor,' boasting the most powerful performance among Samsung TV processors to date, featuring 512 neural networks?eight times more than the previous year?and a neural processing unit (NPU) twice as fast. The advanced AI processor-based '8K AI Upscaling Pro' analyzes and upscales content instantly, allowing viewers to enjoy low-resolution videos clearly.

According to Samsung Electronics' recent internal survey of 202 global consumers, when 4K content was input into the 2024 Neo QLED 8K (model name: QND900), consumers perceived the image quality at about 90% of actual 8K content resolution.

A Samsung Electronics representative said, "Ultra-large premium AI TVs equipped with Samsung's unique AI technology, from Neo QLED 8K to OLED, are receiving great love from customers," adding, "We will continue to provide an upgraded viewing experience through AI features and maintain the formula that 'AI TV means Samsung.'"
