Oceanbotics Supplies Underwater Drones to US Navy and Others
"Industry-Leading Equipment, Exclusive Domestic Supply"
Anti-drone specialist company KAITUS Technology announced on the 2nd that it has signed an exclusive domestic sales contract with OceanBotics, a California-based underwater drone (ROV) manufacturer.
The underwater drone sector is considered a blue ocean as it is utilized in various fields such as underwater reconnaissance, inspection of ships, dams, and bridges, aquaculture farms, and marine ecosystem management research.
OceanBotics manufactures and supplies high-performance underwater drones to more than 14 countries worldwide, including the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard, the UK Border Force, the Australian Border Force, and the French Navy. Underwater drones are also used by global oil companies such as Shell, ExxonMobil, and Chevron.
In October last year, the Australian Border Force discovered 200 kg of cocaine attached to the hull of a ship using OceanBotics' underwater drone SRV8, which was featured as an exclusive report on the Australian current affairs program '60 Minutes Australia.' This product can dive up to 500 meters, has an operational range of about 3 km, and a battery operation time of up to 8 hours. It also features proprietary software that provides buyers with lifetime free updates, distinguishing it from competitors. KAITUS rates the SRV8 as the industry's top-level equipment.
A KAITUS representative said, "This contract with OceanBotics, trusted in the global market, is a great opportunity for KAITUS," adding, "Based on the exclusive supply of top-tier equipment, we will pioneer and secure markets not only in the navy and coast guard but also in various industrial sectors."
