Opening Ceremony of the Center to Be Held at 4 PM on the 2nd... Over 100 Attendees Including Busan Mayor, Saha District Chief, Officials, and Local Residents
The city of Busan will hold an opening ceremony for 'HAHA Center Saha-gu Sinpyeong' on the 2nd at 4 PM on the 2nd floor of Sinpyeong Station, Saha-gu Urban Railway.
Approximately 100 people, including Mayor Park Hyungjoon, the head of Saha-gu, related officials, and local residents, will attend the ceremony to celebrate the opening of the 'HAHA Center' and tour the facility.
The name 'HAHA Center' is inspired by the abbreviation 'HAHA' from the English phrase 'Happy Aging! Healthy Aging!' and is a space designed to support the new senior generation in enjoying a happy and healthy later life.
It supports the process in which the new senior generation forms self-help groups based on their unique experiences and careers, and regains vitality and a sense of social presence through social contribution activities based on the growth of these communities.
It is characterized as the nation's first model targeting 'active seniors' who are more active than users of traditional senior welfare centers and senior citizen centers.
'HAHA Center Saha-gu Sinpyeong,' which is opening this time, is the second branch following the first branch, 'HAHA Center Haeundae-gu Jaesong,' which opened at the end of last year. With a total project cost of 800 million KRW, the 2nd floor of Sinpyeong Station was renovated, and the facility was created with a total floor area of 399 square meters.
The center is equipped with a lounge, activity room, music room, meeting room, and reading room to support various social participation activities for users.
Prior to the center's opening, the city has been actively promoting the facility and encouraging its use by offering customized courses for the new senior generation in collaboration with various local organizations since June, receiving positive responses from users.
As part of the 'HAHA Center Talent Donation Group,' The Tantan Hospital, Goodwill Dental Hospital, Good Morning Baekian Eye Clinic, Busan Arts College Industry-Academic Cooperation Group, Dongseo University, and Busan Digital University have been appointed to offer free lectures as a community service.
Mayor Park Hyungjoon stated, "I hope that seniors can learn and grow together with good neighbors at this HAHA Center and enjoy a healthy and happy later life," and added, "We will continue to expand infrastructure that allows local residents to easily access and enjoy various activities close to home."
