Seoul Eunpyeong-gu (District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced on the 2nd that it recently held the first half of the year proactive administration competition and selected the ‘Outstanding Proactive Public Officials’ and ‘Outstanding Collaboration Teams’.

Eunpyeong-gu selects and rewards public officials who have contributed to creating administrative achievements that residents can feel through proactive administration twice a year to establish and spread a culture of proactive public service.

The outstanding proactive public officials for the first half of this year are ▲ Choi Gwi-yeon from the Tax Administration Division (Grand Prize) ▲ Seo Jae-mo from the Traffic Administration Division (Excellence) ▲ Seo Young-jae from the Sports for All Division (Excellence) ▲ Kim Sun-hee from the Welfare Policy Division (Encouragement) ▲ Park Geon-woo from the Road Division (Encouragement), and the public officials selected as the outstanding collaboration team are ▲ Lee Yoon-jung from the Resource Circulation Division and Choi Yong-min from the Parks and Greenery Division.

The grand prize outstanding proactive public official was highly evaluated for their achievement in actively and promptly seizing and collecting deposit garnishments, recovering 950 million KRW in arrears accumulated over 28 years, contributing to the expansion of the district’s finances and the realization of tax justice.

Public officials selected as outstanding proactive public officials and outstanding collaboration teams receive personnel incentives such as the highest grade of performance bonuses (or performance salary) according to their selection grade (Grand Prize, Excellence, Encouragement), shortened selection period for exemplary public officials, and special leave. In addition, they are given the district mayor’s commendation, prize money, and opportunities to participate in overseas training to strengthen their proactive administration capabilities.

In particular, starting this year, the ‘Outstanding Proactive Collaboration Team’ category was newly established to select public officials who created achievements through active collaboration between departments and teams. For an in-depth evaluation of proactive administration cases, a proactive administration competition including presentation judging was held for the first time.

The district conducted case evaluations by the Eunpyeong-gu Proactive Administration Committee, composed of experts in law, administration, and other fields, as well as resident experience evaluations through resident voting, and finally selected five outstanding proactive public officials and one outstanding collaboration team.

District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung said, “We will work harder to establish a proactive administration promotion system that breaks down barriers between departments and teams so that residents can experience and be satisfied with the administration.”
