The People Power Party's July 23rd National Convention Election Commission on the 1st dismissed the reconsideration requests of Kim Se-ui, head of the Garosero Research Institute, and lawyer Kim So-yeon, who were disqualified in the qualification screening for Supreme Councilor and Youth Supreme Councilor candidates.

Election Commissioner Seo Byung-soo explained at a briefing that "Representative Kim Se-ui engaged in the relevant actions during the local elections, posted videos on operated SNS that did not meet the public's standards, and had past controversies involving abusive language and harsh remarks." Regarding lawyer Kim So-yeon, he stated, "There were concerns that her past statements and attitude could cause division within the party, and there was also a political judgment that such behavior did not meet the public's standards."

Candidate for Supreme Councilor Kim Jae-won was disqualified in the qualification screening, but on the 28th of last month, the Election Commission accepted his objection and canceled the cut-off decision. In response to Representative candidate Won Hee-ryong's criticism of this as an 'arbitrary cut-off,' Commissioner Seo pointed out, "Candidates are players participating in a game, and it is not desirable to raise objections to the Election Commission's decisions."

Regarding concerns about negative election campaigns among candidates, he said, "If self-harm actions or behaviors that do not meet the public's standards occur, we will immediately issue warnings and cautions," adding, "We will take prompt action and manage thoroughly."

The Election Commission selected 'NEXT Conservative Progress' as the slogan for the National Convention. This signifies reform toward a future-oriented party and aims to be a practical and cross-ideological policy party. It was explained that through innovation based on AI (artificial intelligence), conservatism will move beyond the framework of traditional ideology and advance into the future.
