Focused Patrol in Major Frequented Areas
The National Police Agency announced on the 2nd that it will conduct intensive crackdowns on illegal activities by biker gangs until the 31st of next month.
The National Police Agency will establish and implement comprehensive measures for the prevention, crackdown, and investigation of illegal motorcycle activities. By analyzing 112 emergency calls and social media platforms, they will identify areas where biker gangs are expected to appear in advance, and deploy patrol cars and police motorcycles to conduct focused patrols and on-site crackdowns.
When reckless driving is discovered or reported, available personnel and equipment such as traffic police, local police, detectives, and mobile patrol units will be fully utilized. To prevent casualties caused by reckless pursuits, if on-site apprehension is difficult, evidence will be secured and post-investigations will be conducted, including analysis of social media posts.
A police official stated, “Separate crackdown plans for biker gangs will be established and prepared for regional observance days such as Constitution Day and Liberation Day,” adding, “We will respond strictly to biker gang activities that disturb peace on the roads through noise and disorderly traffic violations.”
