Goryeo Savings Bank Creates Donation Forest at Haeundae Arboretum

On the 1st, Koryo Savings Bank announced that it donated trees and created a donation forest at Haeundae Arboretum in Busan as part of its social contribution project.

Koryo Savings Bank planted 38 American elm trees worth approximately 30 million KRW to create a 600㎡ donation forest. This green space is expected to serve as a resting area for users of sports facilities such as soccer fields, futsal courts, and gateball courts. On the 28th of last month, Busan City presented Koryo Savings Bank with a certification plaque in appreciation of its contribution to greenhouse gas reduction.

The total area of Haeundae Arboretum reaches 628,275㎡. The first phase, covering 414,864㎡, was completed in May 2017, and the arboretum was temporarily opened in May 2021. The remaining second phase, covering 213,411㎡, is planned to be developed into sports facilities. A portion of the green space landscaping area in the second phase will become Koryo Savings Bank’s donation forest.

Ahn Sugap, head of Busan City's Green City Development Office, stated, “We expect the donation forest created by Koryo Savings Bank to become a comfortable resting place for citizens.”
