Jang Dong-eon, the newly appointed Commissioner of the Korea Meteorological Administration, stated on the 1st, "The highest priority is to protect the safety of the people from hazardous weather and earthquakes," adding, "I will prioritize the safety of the people in all tasks."

At the inauguration ceremony held at the Government Complex Daejeon in the afternoon, Commissioner Jang said, "In this era of climate crisis, extreme weather events are occurring frequently, threatening the lives of the people more than ever," and added, "I feel the gravity of the responsibility entrusted to me at this critical time."

Commissioner Jang urged efforts to make the Korea Meteorological Administration a body that ▲ protects the safety of the people from hazardous weather and earthquakes, ▲ strengthens the nation-wide capacity to respond to the climate crisis and plays a leading role, and ▲ is a solid organization equipped with sufficient scientific knowledge and technological foundation to meet the demands of the people.

Jang Jeong-chang emphasized, "Leadership does not come from the position but from attitude," and said, "I will always be with you with the right attitude. Let us continue to grow into a Korea Meteorological Administration that is more loved and trusted by the people."
