BNK Gyeongnam Bank Donates 10 Million Won in Eco-Friendly Social Contribution Funds to Gimhae City

BNK Kyongnam Bank has participated for the third consecutive year in the eco-friendly social contribution donation initiative promoted by Gimhae City.


BNK Kyongnam Bank announced on the 1st that it has donated an "Eco-friendly Social Contribution Sponsorship Fund" to Gimhae City to support the implementation of plastic reduction and carbon neutrality.

By joining the eco-friendly social contribution donation for three consecutive years, BNK Kyongnam Bank delivered 10 million KRW as a gesture to support carbon neutrality policies aimed at reducing single-use waste and transitioning to a de-plastic society.


The donated funds will be used for eco-friendly events without single-use waste, support projects to promote the use of reusable containers by the Gimhae Regional Self-Sufficiency Center, including rental of reusable containers at funeral halls, and other related initiatives.


Previously, BNK Kyongnam Bank partially supported the purchase cost of a dried flower vending machine to eradicate plastic artificial flowers at cemetery parks.


Kim Yangsook, Executive Director of BNK Kyongnam Bank, said, "The eco-friendly social contribution donation promoted by Gimhae City can simultaneously create various social values and environmental achievements, such as caring for the socially disadvantaged, job creation, reducing the use of single-use products, responding to the climate crisis, and achieving carbon neutrality. We will continue to actively participate in Gimhae City's environmental policies and take the lead in eco-friendly social contribution activities."


Hong Taeyong, Mayor of Gimhae, stated, "Since 2022, our city has been continuously promoting a comprehensive de-plastic plan in daily life, which includes not using plastic (De-plastic), reusing (Re-use), and recycling (Re-cycle). We will continue to do our best to discover and promote eco-friendly policies that citizens can relate to and practice in their daily lives."
