During the training, laws, guidelines, and case studies related to the policy of "prioritizing safe capture activities" were explained.

The city plans to prevent human casualties, roadkill, and crop damage during harvest season caused by nuisance wildlife such as wild boars and water deer through the activities of the nuisance wildlife damage prevention team.

Additionally, the city intends to block the spread of livestock infectious diseases by capturing wild boars in preparation for African Swine Fever (ASF), which is spreading nationwide.

A city official stated, "Since firearms are used during nuisance wildlife capture, we plan to strengthen publicity to ensure safety by wearing highly visible clothing when entering farmland adjacent to mountains or hiking, to prevent accidents," adding, "We will do our best to protect citizens from nuisance wildlife."

Meanwhile, during the first half of this year, the city promoted the "nuisance wildlife capture activities" along with the "crop damage compensation project," which compensates for crop damage caused by wildlife, and the "wildlife damage prevention facility support project," which supports the installation of fences to block wildlife intrusion into crops.

As a result, 628 water deer and 134 wild boars were captured, and 36.1 million KRW in crop damage compensation was paid to 102 farmers who suffered crop damage.

Installation costs of approximately 112.6 million KRW for wildlife damage prevention facilities were also supported for 30 farms.
