This special exhibition consists of the Korean War photo exhibition "Tomorrow, The Tomorrow They Hoped For" and the portrait exhibition of Smith unit members titled "6HOURS 15MINUTES."
"Tomorrow, The Tomorrow They Hoped For" reexamines the desperation of veterans who hoped for tomorrow during the Korean War and our lives that continue day by day thanks to their sacrifice, through the photographs of David Douglas Duncan and Paul Gould Schlesinger.
"6HOURS 15MINUTES" refers to the intense 6 hours and 15 minutes of the Battle of Jukmiryeong, and features portraits of 19 Smith unit members, the first UN ground troops who led the defense line at the Nakdong River and the success of the Incheon Landing Operation, painted and exhibited by students from Sungshin Women's University.
The exhibition will be held at the first-floor special exhibition hall of Smith Peace Hall until April 30 of next year. Admission is free, and for more details, inquiries can be made to the memorial hall.
Lee Gwon-jae, Mayor of Osan City, stated, "I hope this exhibition will be a meaningful time to remember and never forget the noble spirit of the veterans who devoted themselves to protecting the freedom and peace of the Republic of Korea."
