Gyeonggi Office of Education Visits 113 Schools to Perform 'Gender Equality Musical'

Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education will hold customized musical performances involving students at 113 schools across the province until October.

The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education will visit 113 elementary, middle, and high schools across the province from the 1st of this month until October 31st to perform a musical on the theme of gender equality, involving student participation.

Planned by the Office of Education to prevent sexual harassment and sexual violence within schools, the performances will be conducted by a professional troupe visiting the schools that request it.

The themes and scenarios are differentiated by school level and include exploration of gender stereotypes and discrimination in school and daily life, as well as the necessity of gender-equal thinking.

The Office of Education expects that students will reflect on and improve their gender-discriminatory thoughts and behaviors in daily life by participating in and enjoying the performances.
