The Disney·Pixar animated film 'Inside Out 2' surpassed 5 million viewers as it attracted over 1 million viewers even in its third weekend since release.


According to the Korea Film Council's integrated ticketing system on the 1st, 'Inside Out 2' drew 1,013,827 viewers over the weekend (June 28?30), securing the number one spot at the box office. Its revenue share reached 51.1%. Since its release on May 12, the cumulative audience has exceeded 5,639,004.


The film attracted 2 million viewers in its first weekend and reached 4 million viewers by the 12th day of its second weekend. On the 18th day, it surpassed the 5 million mark, exceeding the audience count of the original 'Inside Out' (2015), which had 4.97 million viewers.


Effectively, 'Inside Out 2' continues its solo run. The total number of moviegoers visiting theaters over the weekend was 1,973,552, of which about 1 million watched 'Inside Out 2'. It has gained popularity by portraying the conflict between the emotions loved in the original and the new emotions that come with adolescence. It is especially praised for moving the 30s and 40s adult audience, known as 'Eoreuni'.

Taking second place, the aviation disaster film 'Hijacking' starring actor Ha Jung-woo (directed by Kim Seong-han) attracted 331,975 viewers. Released on May 21, it has accumulated 1,087,552 viewers. The comedy 'Handsome Guys' starring actors Lee Sung-min and Lee Hee-joon (directed by Nam Dong-hyeop) drew 329,135 viewers, ranking third. The audience numbers for the two Korean films in second and third place differ by only 2,850 viewers, showing similar popularity.


'A Quiet Place: Day One', released on May 26, started at fourth place with 203,365 viewers. Fifth and sixth places went to 'John of Interest' and 'Under the Sea: In Search of the Magic Coral Reef', respectively.
