Jangseong-gun to Host Lecture by KAIST Professor No Jun-yong on the 4th

Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 1st that it will hold the 21st Century Jangseong Academy by inviting Professor Noh Jun-yong from the Graduate School of Culture Technology at KAIST at the Jangseong Culture and Arts Center Small Theater on the 4th.


Professor Noh Jun-yong, who will give this lecture, earned a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, a Master's degree in Computer Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Southern California in the United States, and joined the Hollywood visual effects company Rhythm & Hues Studios.

He also participated in computer graphics work for movies such as "Superman Returns," "The Chronicles of Narnia," and "Garfield."


After returning to Korea in 2006, he served as the dean of the Graduate School of Culture Technology at KAIST and the founding director of the KAIST Failure Research Institute. He developed the immersive theater system "Screen X" technology for the first time in the world, successfully commercialized it, and received the KAIST Research Innovation Award.


His representative books include "It Takes Courage to Break the Mold" and "Do What You Love."


The theme of Professor Noh Jun-yong's lecture at this academy is "It's Okay to Fail." Through various cases and research results, he will reflect on the meaning of failure and have a time to discuss the positive impact of failure on life.


The 21st Century Jangseong Academy, which holds the world record for the longest continuous operation, is held every first and third Thursday of the month.


Before the lecture, a dance performance by a hip-hop group is scheduled, and anyone can enter without prior registration.


Real-time attendance is also possible via the Jangseong-gun YouTube channel at the start of the lecture, and lectures with consent for material sharing can be rewatched on the Jangseong-gun website and YouTube.
