Delivery of Snacks for 15,000 People to 56 Sites by August
Hanwha Construction Division announced on the 1st that it will operate a food truck to ensure the health and safety of workers at construction sites during the heatwave.
Hanwha Construction Division announced on the 1st that it will hold a food truck event providing fruit bingsu and snacks to on-site workers until August 14.
From July 28 to August 14, Hanwha Construction Division is running a program that provides cool cup fruit bingsu and snacks to workers at construction sites nationwide. This food truck event was organized with the hope that workers enduring the heat would take a break and have a healthy day.
Through the event, approximately 15,000 servings of snacks will be delivered to a total of 56 sites, and for sites where operating a food truck is difficult, a ‘Gift Box’ containing six types of snacks such as healthy juice and vitamin jelly will be provided.
On July 28, a fruit bingsu food truck visited the Incheon Hakik 4 District redevelopment site located in Michuhol-gu, Incheon, receiving great response from the workers. About 200 people, including the site manager and partner company employees, cooled off by enjoying fruit bingsu and snacks in the site rest area.
Lee Sang-min, assistant manager working at the Incheon Hakik 4 District redevelopment site, said, “On a hot summer day, I was able to forget the heat for a moment while enjoying bingsu with my colleagues,” and added, “Since this event was organized to encourage all workers, I will strictly follow the heat illness prevention guidelines for myself and my colleagues during the heatwave.”
Hanwha Construction Division is making efforts to prevent heat-related illnesses by installing ice makers on site to provide ice and setting up worker rest facilities equipped with cooling fans. They are also continuously providing saline glucose and adjusting work hours and intensity.
Workers who feel their health is at risk can exercise their ‘right to stop work’ on their own, ensuring thorough safety management.
