Various Events and Campaigns Conducted
Strengthening International Cybersecurity Cooperation
The Ministry of Science and ICT, the Korea Information Security Industry Association (KISIA), and the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) will operate Information Security Month throughout July.
This year's theme is "Protecting Everyone's Trust through Strengthening Global Cybersecurity." Various online and offline events and campaigns, including commemorative ceremonies and conferences, will be held to encourage public participation in information security.
On the 10th, at the Swiss Grand Hotel in Seoul, the 13th Information Security Day will be commemorated with an awards ceremony for meritorious persons, an international information security conference, and an information security product exhibition.
Notably, keynote speeches by distinguished domestic and international figures, including the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Deputy Secretary and the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of Google Cloud, will introduce global cybersecurity cooperation and new technology trends.
The 5th OECD Global Digital Security Forum, hosted by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), will be held in Korea for the first time. Government agencies, academia, industry, research experts, global companies, and domestic experts from 38 member countries will be invited.
The "Global Cybersecurity Cooperation Network (CAMP)" event to strengthen international cooperation in the cybersecurity field will also be held in conjunction with Information Security Day events from the 9th to the 11th at the Swiss Grand Hotel in Seoul.
This event will feature an annual meeting, high-level bilateral talks, capacity-building seminars, and corporate-linked side events under the theme "AI-based Cyber Resilience: Strengthening Defense Against Ransomware Threats." It is expected to serve as a platform for promoting Korea's cybersecurity technology and creating opportunities for companies to expand overseas through global network cooperation.
Additionally, participation events that allow the public to experience the importance of information security and practice security guidelines in daily life can be found on the Internet & Security Agency's Instagram.
Ryu Jae-myung, Director of the Network Policy Office at the Ministry of Science and ICT, stated, "At a time when cyber threats are threatening the daily lives of citizens and the foundation of the nation, it is time for the public, government, and companies to unite their capabilities," adding, "I hope that the power of information security will become a leading force that goes beyond cooperation and collaboration in the global era to become a global power."
