OCI Iksan Plant received the highest rating in the safety management evaluation conducted by the government.
OCI announced on the 1st that its Iksan Plant achieved the highest grade, P grade (Progressive), in the 2024 Process Safety Management (PSM) compliance regular evaluation.
The Process Safety Management evaluation is conducted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor to prevent major industrial accidents such as fires, explosions, and leaks. It comprehensively assesses the establishment and implementation of safety management at hazardous facilities nationwide every year. The P grade obtained by OCI Iksan Plant is the highest rating, corresponding to the top 5% of all evaluated companies.
Since last year, OCI Iksan Plant has been operating a task force (TF) to improve safety culture. They have designated persons in charge for each element of process safety management to conduct systematic monitoring and improve risk factors. OCI explained, "We received high praise for increasing employee interest in safety management and encouraging active participation through the Process Safety Management 12 Key Practice Campaign."
OCI prioritizes safety and health as its top value and is establishing a systematic safety and health management system to strengthen safety management across all business sites. To prevent major accidents and actively respond to strengthened safety regulations, they operate a Major Accident Prevention Committee, regularly sharing safety and health improvement activities of headquarters and each business site in monthly meetings.
