NCSoft challenged the casual game battle by launching 'BattleCrush' in 100 countries worldwide on the 27th of last month. BattleCrush is a battle royale-style game that can be enjoyed lightly, taking less than 10 minutes per match.
BattleCrush can be played on various platforms such as Nintendo Switch, Steam, and mobile. Many users on each platform's store have responded with comments like "You can enjoy simple but fun battles with cute characters" and "If you like light battle royale action, give it a try."
It is also noteworthy that NCSoft's first console title was released through the Nintendo Switch. It is a party-style game with a low entry barrier, allowing children and parents to play together. Its unique casual gameplay is considered well-suited for the Nintendo Switch.
Nintendo has also introduced BattleCrush to gamers through continuous collaboration with NCSoft. In September last year, Nintendo's own online showcase, 'Nintendo Direct,' revealed new footage and beta test information for BattleCrush for the first time. It appeared once again at the Nintendo Direct held on the 18th of last month to announce the release news.
A positively received aspect is that there is no 'Pay to Win' element where spending money gives an advantage in winning the game. BattleCrush uses a 'Battle Pass' system that rewards players based on game progress, providing items such as skins.
NCSoft announced plans to release 10 new titles by next year, starting with BattleCrush. Having challenged the casual game market through BattleCrush, the company plans to meet global users with various genres and platforms.
