'60th Anniversary' HD Hyundai Oil "Let's Lead Change"

60th Anniversary Celebration Ceremony Held

HD Hyundai Oilbank announced on the 30th that it held a commemorative ceremony at its headquarters in the Daesan plant, Chungnam, to celebrate its 60th anniversary. The event was held in a calm atmosphere with about 300 attendees, including CEO Joo Young-min, employees, and outstanding business partners.

At the event, 337 long-term employees and nine outstanding business partners were awarded prize money.

CEO Joo Young-min said, "I would like to express my deep gratitude to the numerous employees and their families who have dedicated themselves to the development of HD Hyundai Oilbank," adding, "We have wisely overcome historical hardships that competitors have not experienced, growing into a comprehensive energy company with a scale of 1.3 million pyeong and a daily capacity of 690,000 barrels."

Starting in 1964 in Daesan, Chungnam, as the first privately funded refining company in Korea, HD Hyundai Oilbank has grown into a comprehensive energy company by establishing joint ventures such as HD Hyundai Shell Base Oil and HD Hyundai Chemical. In particular, based on a domestic top-level refining complexity of 41.7%, the company achieved sales of 28 trillion won in 2023, emerging as a global energy company.

CEO Joo said, "Recently, the internal and external environment, including energy transition and difficult market indicators, has been challenging," and urged, "At this turning point that determines the company's fate, let us reaffirm our commitment to 'leading change without losing our uniqueness.'"
