Four Major Fields: Climate Tech, Deep Tech, Demo Tech, K-Culture
Selection of Promising Startups
Comprehensive energy group Samchully announced that it will hold the investment-linked startup discovery contest ‘S-Together’ starting from July 1.
Samchully, which is approaching its 70th anniversary next year, has been leading the discovery of new growth engines and the realization of future growth based on the strength accumulated by harmoniously promoting energy and non-energy businesses. This S-Together contest was also organized to find opportunities to lead future trends by discovering startups with creative ideas and growth potential, and to achieve mutual growth with startups.
The recruitment will be conducted in four areas: ▲ ‘Climate Tech’ related to climate change response such as eco-friendly, new energy, carbon market, and circular economy ▲ ‘Deep Tech’ related to advanced technologies such as AI and robotics ▲ ‘Demo Tech’ related to responses to population cliff and rapid changes in the labor market ▲ ‘K-Culture’ related to Korean popular culture and food. Startups within 7 years of establishment that have various ideas, technological capabilities, and services in these fields are eligible to apply.
Applications will be accepted for one month from July 1 to 31, and over about three months, final five startups will be selected through document and face-to-face evaluations by experts in each field and a demo day. Selected startups will receive various benefits including ▲ total prize money of 120 million KRW ▲ selective investment opportunities of around 300 million KRW per company ▲ support for parallel investment linked with TIPS.
Kim Jae-sik, Head of Future Business at Samchully, said, “This contest was organized to support the growth of startups with excellent new technologies and high potential based on over 70 years of accumulated rich business experience and know-how,” adding, “With the first S-Together contest, we will do our best not only to strengthen the company’s future competitiveness but also to achieve mutual growth with promising startups.”
