The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education will conduct the ‘School Violence Zero Campaign’ and ‘Dance Challenge’ from July 1 to 19 to foster a culture of preventing school violence.
The School Violence Zero Campaign is led by students and involves participation from local communities and related organizations, conveying the commitment to eradicate school violence. It will be held by schools and regions, with participation from students, faculty, parents, education support offices, police, local governments, and related organizations.
The School Violence Zero Dance Challenge targets students, classes/clubs, schools, institutions/organizations, and residents to encourage voluntary participation and spread awareness about school violence.
Participants can watch the School Violence Zero music video produced by the Provincial Office of Education and submit a 20-second dance video online (http://bit.ly/학교폭력제로챌린지).
This music video, themed ‘Our Movement Toward School Violence ZERO,’ features choreography created by Teacher Lee Hyung-gil from Papyung Elementary School in Paju City, with participation from over 40 students and teachers.
Lee Ji-myeong, Director of the Life Character Education Division at the Provincial Office of Education, stated, "We planned campaigns and challenges with voluntary student participation to deliver the message of eradicating school violence," adding, "We hope to draw the attention of the educational community and society to school violence and enhance the effectiveness of school violence prevention education."
