Gyeonggi-do's "Visiting Care Medical Centers" will expand from 6 locations to 9.
The Visiting Care Medical Centers are a nationwide first initiated by Gyeonggi-do in February, providing unrestricted, visit-based integrated medical and welfare services in six areas: Suwon, Uijeongbu, Paju, Icheon, Anseong, and Pocheon.
Starting July 1, Gyeonggi-do will add care medical services at three more locations: ▲Ilsan Bokum Hospital (Goyang City), ▲Dongtan City Hospital (Hwaseong City), and ▲Sincheon Union Hospital (Siheung City).
The Visiting Care Medical Centers consist of care medical teams made up of doctors, nurses, and social workers who visit applicants' homes to provide medical services such as examinations, prescriptions, vital sign measurements, various tests, nutrition education and counseling, and lifestyle management. If care is needed, they also provide guidance on linking to local social welfare services.
Unlike existing home medical care projects, this service does not distinguish target groups such as long-term care grade recipients; any resident with mobility difficulties can apply for visiting medical care. Gyeonggi-do also provides care medical services after a basic survey conducted by care medical managers.
Yu Young-cheol, Director of the Gyeonggi-do Health and Wellness Bureau, stated, "The Visiting Gyeonggi-do Care Medical Center project marks the beginning of Gyeonggi-do's unique integrated care medical model to respond to a super-aged society and the increase of single-person households." He added, "In this era of rapid aging, we will further strengthen services so that any resident with mobility difficulties can live healthily at home or in facilities."
