Our newspaper reported on October 18, 2022, in the article titled <Law&Company “Korean Bar Association condemns disciplinary actions against Lawyers on Lotok... Will support objections”> that “the Constitutional Court ruled the Korean Bar Association’s advertising regulations unconstitutional.”
In response, the Korean Bar Association stated, “The Constitutional Court did not declare the entire advertising regulation of the Korean Bar Association unconstitutional, but only ruled unconstitutional the part of Article 4, Clause 14 concerning ‘advertisements contrary to the association’s authoritative interpretation,’ the part of Article 8, Paragraph 2, Clause 4 concerning ‘cases where acts violating the association’s authoritative interpretation are the purpose or means,’ and the part of Article 5, Paragraph 2, Clause 1 concerning ‘acts of advertising, promoting, or introducing lawyers, etc.’”
