Opening of Gwangjin-gu Guui 2-dong Complex Building... Children's English Library Established Kim Kyung-ho, head of Gwangjin District Office, is touring the Children's English Library.

Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) held the opening ceremony of the Guui 2-dong Complex Office on the 28th and officially began its operation.

The Guui 2-dong office building was constructed in 1989 and has become old and worn over 35 years. Considering the population of about 26,000 residents in Guui 2-dong, the space was insufficient, and there was a lack of cultural and welfare facilities, making a large-scale complex office with convenience facilities necessary.

The Guui 2-dong Complex Office (55, Cheonho-daero 136-gil) is a building with 3 basement floors and 5 above-ground floors, with a site area of 1,506㎡ and a total floor area of 6,139㎡. It is the largest among the district offices in Gwangjin-gu. Reflecting residents' opinions, convenience facilities such as a public parking lot and a library were expanded. Efforts were made to meet the diverse administrative needs of Guui 2-dong residents and provide high-quality administrative services.

The basement floors 1 to 3 were developed into a public parking lot with 81 spaces to resolve chronic parking complaints. The first floor above ground was designed as a children's English library, stocked with about 14,000 English books, creating a playground where children can learn English while playing. The second floor was arranged as the community service center, while the third and fourth floors were set up as a family center for multicultural families and local residents to communicate, and a shared childcare space to promote child-rearing and care culture. The fifth floor serves as a large auditorium that can be used for local events and community center programs.

The opening ceremony was held with about 300 attendees, including Gwangjin-gu Mayor Kim Kyung-ho, key guests, and residents. The ceremony proceeded smoothly in the order of the unveiling ceremony, traditional Korean music performance, progress report, presentation of appreciation plaques, greetings, and facility tours. Appreciation plaques were presented to the construction company and supervisors who dedicated their best efforts to the complex office construction.

Mayor Kim Kyung-ho of Gwangjin-gu said, “I thank the residents and officials of Guui 2-dong for their support and cooperation in the construction of the Guui 2-dong Complex Office. I hope you enjoy high-quality administrative services at the new community service center,” and added, “Please actively share your opinions on any shortcomings or inconveniences and continue to show great interest and affection for district administration.”
