A man in his 30s who stole lost cards from unmanned stores and used them to spend over 7 million won has been handed over to the prosecution.
On the 28th, the Gangbuk Police Station in Seoul announced that on the 26th, Mr. A was arrested and sent to prosecution on charges of theft, embezzlement of lost property, and violation of the Credit Finance Act.
Mr. A is suspected of stealing lost cards from card lockers at unmanned stores around Seoul from early last month to mid this month and using them.
He made payments totaling over 7 million won in 20 transactions using more than 10 cards. He converted the money into cash by buying precious metals at jewelry stores and selling them at other shops.
The police urgently arrested Mr. A on the 19th at a PC room in Suyu-dong, Gangbuk-gu, and are continuing the investigation, suspecting additional crimes.
