Seodaemun-gu, Seoul announced on the 28th that District Mayor Lee Seongheon will start the second half of his term in the 8th local government by cleaning the street on Inwang Market Road, a back road in the district, on the 1st of next month.

On that day, starting from 6 a.m., Mayor Lee will carry out cleaning work along a 200-meter section with about 10 environmental officers, sweeping up fallen leaves and trash along the roadside, which are the main causes of drainage blockage during the rainy season.

Previously, on the first day of the 8th local government term two years ago, Mayor Lee also cleaned the street at the same location early in the morning and has since consistently participated in the monthly 'Clean Day Cleaning Events.'

During lunchtime on the same day, Mayor Lee will volunteer to serve meals at the district office cafeteria, and in the afternoon, he plans to visit 'Cafe Pokpo,' a global healing spot visited by people worldwide since its opening in April last year, to experience being a barista.

Located opposite Seodaemun Hongje Waterfall with an excellent view, 'Cafe Pokpo' is a cafe directly operated by the district office. For this experience, Mayor Lee obtained a health certificate from the health center.

Mayor Lee will also attend the monthly assembly at the district office auditorium to share the achievements of the first half of the 8th local government term and the vision for the second half with the staff. He will visit the Seodaemun-gu Childcare Comprehensive Support Center to hold a meeting with the workers and listen to their opinions.

In addition, during the first week of the second half of the 8th local government term, Mayor Lee will hold meetings with staff from the 14 neighborhood community centers and discussions related to lifelong education projects linked with nine universities in the district.

He will also inspect housing redevelopment demolition sites, rockfall prevention net installation sites, and the walking course for the Ieumgil Walking Competition, and personally participate in volunteer activities to improve the living environment for vulnerable households by replacing wallpaper and flooring.

Seodaemun-gu announced that it will start the second half of the 8th local government term focusing on 'field-centered administration' and 'communication with staff,' omitting a separate commemorative ceremony.

Mayor Lee Seongheon stated, "With a practical and realistic attitude that does not lose the initial intention from two years ago, I will listen to the voices from the field, promote administration that is more closely connected to daily life, and continue to create substantial changes for '100% citizen happiness.'"
