The 28th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN) announced the opening ceremony guests on the 28th, with the event set to take place at the Bucheon Art Center on the 4th of next month. Actors Jung Soo-jung and Jang Dong-yoon will host the opening ceremony, marking the start of the festival. Actress Son Ye-jin will visit Bucheon as the star of the 'Actor Special Exhibition.'
Master of 'Hong Kong Noir' director Du Ki-bong, Japanese horror maestro Nakata Hideo, and director Kim Sung-soo, who attracted 10 million viewers last year with 'Spring in Seoul,' will attend. The two directors will screen the restored version of 'Dragon Tiger Gate' (2004) at a masterclass on July 5. On the same day, director Nakata will hold a GV (guest talk). Director Kim will attend the 'Night of Living Otakus' after the 4K remastered screening of 'Musa' on July 9.
Famous Japanese actor Yagira Yuya, actor Park Joong-hoon, chair of the 'Bucheon Choice: Feature' jury, and director Yeon Sang-ho, who won this year's 'Series Film Award' for 'Parasite: The Grey,' will walk the red carpet at the opening ceremony. Actors Kim Bo-sung, Kim Bo-yeon, Kim Ji-sook, Dokgo Young-jae, Ye Ji-won, Im Ha-ryong, Jang Sung-beom, Jung Yi-seo, Jo Sang-gu, Jo Sung-ha, and Choi Gwi-hwa will also attend.
Singer Kwon Eun-bi, debuting as an actor, will greet audiences with the film 'Smartphoneul Tteoreotteuryeossneunppuninde: Last Hacker.' Kim Jae-joong, Gong Seong-ha, and Go Yoon-jun from 'Gentleman: Whisper of the Evil Spirit,' Park Joo-hyun, Jae-hyun, and Kwak Si-yang from 'You Will Die in 6 Hours,' Kim Do-yeon and Jung Ha-dam from 'Amoeba Girls and School Ghost Stories: School Foundation Day,' Lee Ho-won from 'Heaven,' Son Soo-hyun from 'Let's Do Pull-ups,' Anupam from 'Soulmate: Night of Salvation,' Moon Jeong-hee and Lee Hyun-woo from 'Expedition Villa,' Choi Daniel, Han Sang-jin, Kang Eun-tak, Kim Jeong-hwa, and Jung Hye-in from 'Sunny Day,' and Kim Jeong-nan and Park Ji-hoon from 'The World’s Really Pretty Audrey' will also be present.
This year’s BIFAN will be held from the 4th to the 14th of next month across Bucheon city. Screenings will take place at Bucheon City Hall, the Korea Manhwa Museum, CGV Sopung, Bucheon Art Bunker B39, and online on the Wave platform.
