Busan Office of Education to Train Experts in the 2022 Revised Curriculum for Grades 3 to 6

From July 1, Academy... Support for Building Expert Talent Pool and Applying Training Programs

The Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education will operate the ‘2022 Revised Curriculum (Grades 3-6) Expert Training Academy’ for 80 participants, including curriculum professional support teams, leading teachers by subject, and volunteer teachers, over 10 sessions from July 1 to 24 at the Busan Education Research and Information Center and other locations.

This academy aims to foster experts in the 2022 revised curriculum and build a pool of specialists to support the implementation of the new curriculum in schools.

The city office of education has structured the academy to enhance understanding of the 2022 revised curriculum at the school level and to enable schools to apply the curriculum according to their specific circumstances. The program includes content such as the subject curriculum for grades 3-6, teacher curriculum, and school autonomous hours.

Additionally, the academy will be conducted in various formats, including expert lectures, group practice, and online training, to provide practical support to schools.

The special lecture at this expert training academy will be delivered by Professor Kim Jonghun from Konkuk University, under the theme, "Dreaming of Realizing the Teacher Curriculum - Focusing on School Autonomous Hours in the 2022 Revised Curriculum." In addition, trainees will have sessions to review key aspects for applying the revised curriculum in schools, such as "Designing School Autonomous Hours" and "Examining the Subject Curriculum for Grades 3-6."

Ha Yoonsoo, Superintendent of the Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education, stated, "The city office of education will do its best to develop and distribute support materials for organizing and operating school curricula in line with the 2022 revised curriculum, and to foster curriculum experts and provide on-site support through training."
