Final Decision to Be Made in Full Vote on the 2nd of Next Month
The People Power Party elected Park Seongman as the candidate for the chairperson of the North Gyeongsang Provincial Council on the 28th.
On this day, members of the People Power Party in the North Gyeongsang Provincial Council held a vote in the council meeting room between two candidates for the chairperson position: Park Seongman and Han Changhwa. Out of a total of 55 votes, Park received 33 votes and Han received 22 votes, resulting in Park being selected as the candidate for the next chairperson of the North Gyeongsang Provincial Council.

The North Gyeongsang Provincial Council consists of 59 members in total: 55 from the People Power Party, 2 from the Democratic Party, and 2 independents.
Park is a five-term council member from Yeongju.
The North Gyeongsang Provincial Council will elect the chairperson, vice-chairperson, and others with all members present on July 2.
An official from the North Gyeongsang Provincial Council said, "Since the People Power Party holds an overwhelming majority, even if another vote is held at the plenary session on July 2 with all members from the People Power Party, the Democratic Party, and independents present, the result will not change."
