A group who deliberately rammed cars changing lanes in Dangjin, Chungnam, extorting tens of millions of won, has been handed over to the prosecution.

Chungnam Police Agency announced on the 28th that two people, including Mr. A (22), were sent to the prosecution without detention on charges of violating the Special Act on the Prevention of Insurance Fraud.

They are accused of deliberately ramming cars changing lanes over a white solid line seven times in Dangjin, Chungnam, from February 2020 to December 2023, and embezzling about 47 million won from insurance companies under the pretext of settlement money.

It was investigated that they became acquainted while working as designated drivers.

A Chungnam Police Agency official said, "When changing lanes, you must operate the turn signal in advance and change lanes without being slower than the speed of the following vehicle," and urged, "Please follow traffic regulations well to avoid becoming a target of insurance fraud."
