Cheonan Soccer Comprehensive Center Sports Facilities Open to Citizens in August

The sports facilities for community sports within the Korea Football Center, promoted by Cheonan City, Chungnam Province, and the Korea Football Association, have completed construction and have begun preparations for full public access.

On the 27th, Cheonan Mayor Park Sang-don conducted an on-site inspection of the sports facilities. The newly completed community sports facilities include four soccer fields, four futsal courts, two jokgu courts, five tennis courts, an 8-hole ground golf course, and a 1402-meter well-being trekking course utilizing green spaces.

The community sports facilities will undergo a trial operation throughout July and are scheduled to open to the public starting in August.

The city plans to complete the national team training facilities by May next year and the gymnasium by October, following the completion of the community sports facilities. The Football History Museum is currently undergoing administrative procedures with a target opening in 2027.

Cheonan City expects that once the community sports facilities and indoor gymnasium are completed, various sports activities will be possible within the Football Center, contributing to the expansion of the sports base and improving user satisfaction with the facilities.

Mayor Park Sang-don stated, “We will promptly address any deficiencies found during the on-site inspection and do our best to establish convenience facilities that meet citizens’ expectations to ensure there are no inconveniences in use.”
