According to YG on the 28th, Yang and 2NE1 (CL, Park Bom, Sandara Park, Gong Minji) held a meeting on the afternoon of the 27th at YG's new office building in Hapjeong-dong, Seoul.
Yang warmly welcomed each of the four 2NE1 members individually. The official meeting lasted about two hours, and YG stated that it was a meaningful and significant conversation.
2NE1 holds a special meaning for YG. Currently, BLACKPINK has established itself as the world's top girl group, and recently BabyMonster successfully made their official debut following them. 2NE1 is the first group in the YG girl group lineage that carries the 'YG DNA.'
The meeting between Yang and 2NE1 is drawing more attention because it was not a private gathering but an official meeting where the members visited the YG new office building for the first time. Also, considering that the members visited Yang personally to commemorate their 15th debut anniversary, the possibility of a new 2NE1 project is very high, attracting global fans' attention.
A YG official said, "Since this is the first conversation between Yang and the 2NE1 members in 8 years, there are no concrete plans yet. However, Yang, who has a special affection for 2NE1, listened to and empathized with the members' requests, so we hope to deliver good news to fans soon."
2NE1 debuted in 2009 with the single "Fire" and received great love by producing numerous hit songs such as "I Don't Care," "Go Away," "Lonely," "Ugly," "Come Back Home," "I Am the Best," and "Can't Nobody."
