The Voice of Residents is the Answer... Yeongdeungpo-gu Holds 'Current Issues Resident Briefing' on the 2nd Anniversary of the 8th Elected Term Choi Ho-gwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, held a resident briefing session on current projects in Mullae-dong on the 18th.

Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced that it will hold the "Yeongdeungpo-gu Current Issues Resident Briefing Session" on July 2nd at 2 PM in the Yeongdeungpo Art Hall Grand Auditorium to mark the two-year midpoint of the 8th elected term.

At this briefing session, Mayor Choi Ho-kwon plans to meet directly with exemplary residents and organizations recognized for their efforts in community harmony and district development, explain key issues by sector, and outline the blueprint for "Young City Yeongdeungpo."

During the session, the district will introduce projects by sector including a safe and pleasant "residential city," a vibrant "economic city," a hopeful "future education city," a culturally rich "city of life," a "welfare city" where everyone is happy, and "public infrastructure expansion" created together with residents.

First, the district will discuss projects being rapidly advanced to shed the image of an old and worn downtown and move toward becoming a "premium residential city where anyone wants to live." Key projects to be explained include ▲ operation of the Redevelopment and Reconstruction Consultation Center ▲ public housing maintenance project in the jjokbangchon (small room village) area ▲ relaxation of commercial area mixed-use building retail space ratio.

Additionally, the briefing will cover ▲ establishment of a master plan for the undergrounding of the Gyeongbu Line railway ▲ development plans for semi-industrial areas such as raising the floor area ratio for apartment complexes to 400% ▲ relocation of the Mullae-dong industrial complex and attraction of 4th industrial revolution industries, explaining projects aimed at leaping forward as an economic city. Projects to enhance urban vitality through youth independence and regional economic revitalization will also be shared.

The district will also envision Yeongdeungpo as a future education city through the launch of the "Future Education Foundation," the control tower of district education policy, and projects such as ▲ Warm Companion Education Neulpureum School ▲ Science Culture Voucher and other future science creative talent development projects ▲ the Twin Generation tailored space "Sairo" at Seonyu Library.

In particular, the district will introduce the first milestone toward the "Garden City, Flower City Yeongdeungpo" declared last May, the "Mullae-dong Flower Garden," and explain the four major strategies to move toward "Yeongdeungpo where flower pollen flies instead of iron dust." The current status and future plans for the construction of the "Yeongdeungpo Mullae Arts Center," a district-run facility to be built on the site next to the Mullae-dong Flower Garden, will also be shared, offering a preview of a cultural and leisure hub where classical music flows like a river.

Following this, the briefing will present ▲ "Life Cycle Welfare Projects" that accompany residents from start to eternity ▲ "Disability Support Projects" that respect differences ▲ "Veterans Culture Expansion Projects" that remember heroes, as well as the "Public Infrastructure Expansion Projects" that will balance regions and become resident-friendly open spaces.

Through this briefing session, Mayor Choi plans to review the major ongoing issues with residents, gather their opinions, and work together to complete "Young City Yeongdeungpo."

Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, said, "I thank all residents who have joined us for Yeongdeungpo's youthful transformation over the past two years," adding, "Going forward, we will prioritize communication, meet residents eye to eye, listen to their voices, and create Young City Yeongdeungpo together with them."
